PAWS & PETALS: Spring Cat Art Contest is HERE!

We are celebrating spring with a community-wide cat-themed art contest, and we want YOUR creativity on our walls.
Contest Submission Accepted: May 4th-May 31st
HOW IT WORKS
Submit your original cat-themed artwork and compete in one of three age divisions:
- Child: Ages 5â12
- Teen: Ages 13â17
- Adult: Ages 18+
Our staff will select the Top 5 entries in each category (15 finalists total).
Those finalists will be displayed inside the café, and our customers will vote to choose the winners.
WHAT YOU CAN SUBMIT
We are looking for original, handmade artwork only:
- Painting (acrylic, watercolor, oil)
- Drawing (pencil, ink, colored pencil, charcoal)
- Mixed media
- Digital illustration (must be original work)
Not allowed:
- AI-generated artwork (automatic disqualification)
- Photography
- Traced or copied work
- Inappropriate content

Winners (1 per category):
- $150 Alaska Cat Café Gift Certificate
- Professionally framed display of your artwork inside the café
- Featured Artist spotlight (in-store and on social media)
- Alaska Cat Café merch bundle
- âArtist of the Seasonâ recognition
Runners-Up (Finalists):
- Artwork displayed inside the café and cat lounge
- $25 Gift Certificate
- Artist credit displayed with your piece
IMPORTANT DETAILS
- Finalists will be chosen by staff after submissions close
- Public voting will take place in person at the café
- No set timeframe is guaranteed for artwork display, but featured pieces will be showcased prominently
- Winners will be announced after voting concludes
LEGAL / RIGHTS
By submitting artwork, you agree:
- Your work is original and created by you
- No AI-generated or assisted artwork is permitted
- The Alaska Cat Café reserves the right to disqualify any entry
- Submitted artwork may be used for marketing, promotional materials, merchandise, and social media without compensation
- Artists retain ownership of their original work
- The Alaska Cat Café is not responsible for loss or damage, though reasonable care will be taken
